Best Restaurants for a Business Lunch

Are you looking for a good spot to take a client to lunch, meet with a potential partner or just have a business lunch with a co-worker? We have asked a few people we like for their highly recommended restaurants in the area that are perfect for just that! Next week marks the transition into Phase 2 of the COVID-19 reopening plan for Joplin. Well, since we will soon start having lunches outside of our homes again, we thought we would offer some recommendations on where to go. We believe that there are three things people look for when choosing a restaurant for a business lunch.

1. Good Privacy

2. Good Ambiance

3. Good Food

JOPLIN

“The lunch specials are fast if you have limited time, the food quality is exceptional, and the service is always great! The atmosphere is casual with a lot of local flair to keep the small talk going.” – Niki Brown with Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences

“The post-tornado incarnation is clean and bright. It also has the only salad in town that I willingly choose over a burger, because the greens are so fresh, the grilled chicken is delicious, and the balsamic is really good. There is enough of a bustle to the place that privacy isn’t a concern but get there a little early if you want easy parking.” – Andrew Jordan from Jordan CPA Services

“Fantastic food, amazing staff and a great environment for business meetings. Damien and team do a wonderful job of accommodating requests if a bigger or more private space is necessary!” - Brent Westhoven with Beimdiek Insurance

More than just a movie theater, Bookhouse Cinema is housed in a historic building on Broadway, it's perfect for showing off the local flavor of Joplin. They use local ingredients and have great vegetarian options for those who struggle to find quality. The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back, great for a leisurely lunch or dinner.” – Lori Haun with Downtown Joplin Alliance

“An excellent lunch stop in Joplin. Perfect lunch-sized portions (and great prices) make it a fresh, delicious option that won’t make you sleepy all afternoon! The staff is friendly and accommodating and the Thai iced tea is incredible! Grab an appetizer as soon as you arrive, and your main course will be quick to follow. Parking is limited but you’re welcome to park at the shop next door.” - Mitzi Starkweather with Mitzi Starkweather Photography

CARTHAGE

“A little out of the way, but this restaurant is great for a longer business lunch. It is the best Italian food around, there is plenty of parking, and the tables are far enough apart to give plenty of privacy. Service is fast and the bread and salad help get the conversation going.” - Andrew Jordan from Jordan CPA Services

“When I need to have a lunch meeting in Carthage, I usually choose The Woodshed inside Cherry's Art Emporium on the Square. They have the best Mediterranean grilled chicken salad and delicious burgers too. The restaurant is large enough that I can choose a quiet corner if the meeting needs privacy. When meeting with someone from out of town, it's also a great place to tour (and even buy) artwork from some of our town's nationally recognized artists.” - Heather Goff Collier with Carthage Community Foundation

PITTSBURG

“Chatters is a great spot for lunch in Pittsburg because of its atmostphere. The menu has a wide variety so anyone can find something they like, including plenty of healthy options.” – Bart Arnett with Arnett Glass

These are just a few of our favorite places, but there are so many more! We hope that you try out some of these wonderful local restaurants and tell us what you think. Let us know if we missed some of your favorites - leave a comment below!
