Project Manager / Accountant

Emma learned about handling cash while working for a bank, how to handle Accounts Receivable while working for a pharmacy, and the ins and outs of Accounts Payable working for Leggett and Platt. She uses this diverse experience to help customers with a variety of Accounting needs.

Outside of the office, Emma enjoys a variety of crafting activities including knitting, crocheting, and painting. She founded and still runs the local Hip Handmade Market, bringing the best local crafters together twice a year for a market. She also enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, and listening to music, especially Beyoncé.

Emma has been a volunteer educator with Art Feeds for several years and now enjoys getting to use Volunteer Time Off to spend time in the classroom during the day. She also volunteers on the Carthage Art Walk Committee.

Staff Accountant

Sarah realized accounting was her niche while working for a bank. After returning to school and finishing her degree, she spent three and a half years in Public Accounting working on taxes and small business accounting.

Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri Southern State University.

Sarah loves reading, especially mysteries and science fiction. She enjoys baking and has learned to make a variety of desserts for her friends and family. Sarah enjoys learning new crafts and is often working on a variety of things including crochet, dot painting, tri-loom weaving, sewing, Viking weaving, and crafts for toddlers.

For several years, Sarah has been volunteering in her church nursery, toddler, and three-year-old rooms. She also serves as the treasurer for the Carthage Boy Scout Troop 9.

Transparency—We communicate clearly and candidly with our clients and each other. We would rather over-communicate than under communicate.

Humility—We show humility in all our interactions. We are open to the possibility that we might be wrong and keep an open mind about things.

Excellence—We continually hone our skills by practice and training, but most of all by being willing to adopt better ways of doing something when we find it.

Ownership—We take responsibility to make sure things get done. We treat projects as though we were an owner of the business. We understand the impact our work has on our clients and care about success.

Lean Mentality—We seek to eliminate waste in our own processes and help clients eliminate waste in their systems. We take time to reflect on our successes and failures and make things better by applying what we learn.

While many of our clients are located near our office in Carthage, Missouri in the area between Pittsburg, Kansas and Springfield, Missouri with Joplin, Missouri in the middle, the majority of our revenue comes from outside Southwest Missouri. That's because we use cloud-software (or virtual hosting for the Desktop version of QuickBooks). Instead of having a wide variety of clients in a narrow geographic region, we have a narrow range of clients in a wide geographic area.

We add the most value when we work with clients that have these traits:

  • Looking to add a long-term partner with a different point of view to their team, not just get their tax return or bookkeeping done

  • Progressive in their views of technology

  • Wanting to grow their business

  • Value the same things we do, especially transparency and a lean mentality
